An integral part of the program of the 16th edition of the Festival Mode & Design, Creativity Exposed was held on August 17, 2016. Showcasing the best student projects from our Interior Design, VFX & Game Design, Digital Arts and Beauty Schools. The production, signed by Groupe Sensation Mode was presented at Société des arts technologiques [SAT], at the heart of Montreal’s Quartier des spectacles.
A multitude of industry names congregated to celebrate with our students, such as KARTELL, leader in furniture design, symbol of Italian design in the world, who decorated the stage with our Interior Design students. Later that evening, that same stage would be the set for the «The Walking Wigs» show, a concept which highlighted the use of wigs styled by our Beauty School students and graduates worn by models to a mix by DJ Lexis, a music reference in Montreal and author of «Music Is My Sanctuary». Other figures of the Montreal music scene also graced our stage: DJ A Rock and Shaydakiss who kept the crowd dancing until the end.
Without a doubt, the three performances by Charlie Le Mindu which punctuated the evening put an emphasis on the estheticism and creativity of the exposition. Thanks to the collaboration of students and alumni of the Beauty School, the makeup for the stage and performances were flawless on the models and dancers. It was also our students and alumni who took charge of the body painting performance. The body makeup was entirely realised by this amazing team. Congratulations to the team of makeup artists for their work!
The works by our Interior Design School students and those by our students at the Digital Arts School each had a gallery-type exhibition area, a beautiful place to show the extent of their training and abilities. The exhibition was a meeting point for many employers to propose internships and employment to students.
The video games and 3D animations produced by the students of the VFX & Game Design School were appreciated thanks to a demo REEL edit broadcasted on the main wall of the SAT bar and to the video game plateau which allowed attendees to test the different games. What a success!
